Frequently asked questions

Can't find your question? Call Gateway or send a request on the Contact page.

Do I have to pay when I book on the website?

No. A booking request only reserves your seat. A Gateway consultant calls you back to confirm availability, the final price and how to pay; you only pay once you agree.

What does the price include?

Each tour has a "Price includes" and a "Price excludes" section. Prices usually cover flights, hotels, meals and sightseeing as listed, travel insurance and a tour guide; tips for the guide, the single-room supplement and personal expenses are usually extra.

Do international tours need a visa? Can Gateway help?

It depends on the destination and your nationality. For tours that need a visa, Gateway sends a document checklist and prepares applications for the whole group. Terms if a visa is refused differ by tour; see the notes at the bottom of each tour page.

How long must my passport be valid?

Most international tours require a passport valid for more than 6 months from the date you return to Vietnam. Check your passport before booking.

How are children priced?

The departure table lists adult, child and single-room prices for each date. Age rules are in the "Child pricing" section of each tour.

What if I want to change the date or cancel?

Change and cancellation fees depend on how early you tell us and on each tour's terms (flight tickets, visas already issued…). Our consultant sends the exact terms when confirming your seat, so you can read them before paying.

Where do tours depart from?

Each tour states its departure city (Ho Chi Minh City or Hanoi) and return date. You can filter tours by departure month on the tour list.

Does Gateway run private tours for families or companies?

Yes. Send a request on the Contact page with your group size, dates and budget, and Gateway will suggest a suitable itinerary.

Is the tour guide English-speaking?

Our group tours are run for Vietnamese travellers with a Vietnamese-speaking guide. Gateway staff answer you in English before and after the trip; ask us about private tours if you need an English-speaking guide.
