KUNMING – LIJIANG: THE CITY OF EVERLASTING SPRING

You have breakfast and check out of the hotel. The tour guide takes the group to Lijiang by the new high-speed train Kunming – Lijiang (about 4 hours).
Expected train: Kunming – Lijiang 08:21 – 12:29 (second-class seat)
Arrive in Lijiang (Lijiang) – a beautiful city on the Yunnan plateau, blessed by nature with many poetic and lyrical landscapes, once the ancient capital of the Naxi kingdom. You visit:
Heilongtan Park – Situated at the foot of Spring Dragon Mountain in a calm, peaceful space, the park is known as the “painting in the heart of Lijiang”. Its spacious grounds, with a lake, stone bridge and ancient-style Chinese pavilions, set against the distant Jade Dragon Mountain, create a deeply picturesque scene.

The group checks out and has breakfast at the hotel.
The bus takes the group out for sightseeing:
Jade Dragon Snow Mountain (Yulong) – Called “Oulu” in the Naxi language, meaning silver rock mountain, this 5,596 m peak is snow-covered all year round, and its permanent ice glows a jade-like blue.
You ride the cable car up to Bingxue Station at an altitude of 4,506 m above sea level, feeling the majestic nature here.

After breakfast at the hotel, you check out. The tour guide takes the group sightseeing:
Songzanlin Monastery (Sumtseling) – Known as a miniature version of the Potala Palace in Lhasa (Tibet), this is the largest Tibetan Esoteric Buddhist monastery in Yunnan. Songzanlin strongly reflects the typical culture of the Tibetan people and is home to more than 700 monks. The monastery lies 5 km north of Deqen, backed against towering cliffs and set on a high hill belonging to the lama lineage.

The group has a light breakfast at the hotel. Then it checks out and sets off for sightseeing:
Dali Ancient Town: Once the glorious capital of the Dali Kingdom, the old town sits in a prime location, backed against Cangshan Mountain and facing Erhai Lake, with the famous Three Pagodas of Dali nearby – a renowned Buddhist architectural work. Today, the ancient town still preserves valuable historical relics such as ancient temples and shrines, along with a romantic landscape full of “wind – flowers – snow – moon”. This is also the hometown of Prince Duan Yu – the refined and lovestruck young man in Kim Dung’s novel “The Demi-Gods and Semi-Devils”.

You have breakfast and check out of the hotel.
Then the bus takes the group out for sightseeing:
Explore Yuantong Mountain, which in cherry blossom season turns the central mountain of Kunming into a brilliant pink “sea of flowers”, creating the natural phenomenon called “Yuantong Flower Tide”. Here there are hundreds of Yunnan and Japanese cherry trees interwoven with begonias, forming long, deep arches of flowers that float like clouds and smoke. The brilliant flower colors peek out beside the moss-covered roofs of a 1,200-year-old ancient temple, creating a spring picture that is both fresh and ancient.
Then the tour guide takes the group to the airport for the return flight to Ho Chi Minh City.
