Spring in Japan is not limited to familiar destinations such as Tokyo or Kyoto, but also extends to lesser-known regions, where pristine beauty and a slower pace of life offer a completely different experience. This journey will take you from the peaceful island of Shikoku, across the vibrant Kansai region, to fully embrace the spirit of spring in the Land of the Rising Sun.

Matsuyama – the capital of Ehime Prefecture on Shikoku Island, home to majestic Matsuyama Castle, one of the 12 original castles still remaining in Japan, standing on a hill overlooking the whole city. Don’t miss the experience of soaking in Dogo Onsen – considered the oldest hot spring in Japan, which inspired the famous animated film “Spirited Away.” The elegant port city of Kobe carries a strong blend of Eastern and Western cultures, famous for its mountain views overlooking the sea, European-style architecture and the world-renowned Kobe beef. Kyoto – the thousand-year-old ancient capital, the cultural soul of Japan. Stroll among ancient temples draped in moss, glimpse Geisha figures, and admire the many shrines and temples bathed in cherry blossom pink each spring. Osaka is the most dynamic and free-spirited city in the Kansai region, a street food paradise with the Dotonbori district, dazzling under its ever-bright neon lights. Tokushima is a peaceful land famous for the magnificent Naruto whirlpools and the distinctive Awa Odori folk dance. It also preserves pristine natural landscapes, offering a calm pause amid the lively journey. More than a spring trip, this is a journey to discover a multifaceted Japan – where tradition and modernity, nature and urban life blend together in a sea of cherry blossoms. This is one of the Japan travel experiences and Asia tours worth exploring. Gateway is proud to be the travel partner accompanying thousands of travelers on every journey.
